You might have tried my classic Air Fryer French Fries Recipe before, and if you loved those I know you’ll enjoy these! Making french fries in the air fryer is my favorite way to make them. It’s so easy and the clean up is quick.

How To Make Air Fryer Fries Let’s be real, everything you make in the air fryer is easy, but french fries are probably the easiest thing you’ll make in it. Using a sharp knife, cut the potatoes in half. Place the sliced potatoes in a large bowl of water for 30-60 minutes to remove some of the starch. This step is somewhat optional, but will help make the most crispy french fries. When they’re finished, you can top the fries with extra parmesan cheese, a sprinkle of garlic powder, and fresh parsley or eat them as is! Note: cooking time may vary depending on the air fryer you have. This is the air fryer I used for the recipe.

Tips For Making French Fries In The Air Fryer Soaking the potatoes in water is optional but I highly recommend doing it. The water will help remove the starch from the potatoes which allows them to become crispier when cooking. Using a mandoline to cut the potatoes into french fries is a quicker and safer method. I’ve made french fries in the air fryer without soaking them and they turn out ok, but there is a BIG difference when I soak them for a few hours or overnight. You can store peeled potatoes in water in the fridge for up to 24 hours. If you leave peeled potatoes out at room temperature or even in the fridge, they will turn brown.
